Foothills Soccer Families,
WE NEED YOUR VOICES BY OCTOBER 1st!
There is an exciting development possibility with some of the fields at Jackson Middle School. Portland Public Schools (PPS) is proposing a two-phase project that would change some of the grass soccer/baseball fields to turf. They are also proposing to add lights to some of the field areas. The complete plan can be found here.
Fields are a HUGE challenge our club faces every year as we grow, and more sports vie for time on fields. Converting these grass fields to turf will allow year-round play and the portion that has lights will give us a much-needed option for the months when daylight ends prior to 6:00pm. Adding more fields in the SW Portland area will allow both our recreational and competitive teams more field space for practices and will also help reduce the overuse that some of the grass fields currently experience. This will help improve the quality of our practices both on the new turf fields and on the existing grass fields.
Please add your name, email and address to the Foothills Soccer Club letter we are sending on behalf of the club, by clicking here. It will take you less than a minute to add your support!
!!!!!PLEASE ADD YOUR SUPPORT BY NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1st!!!!!
Our club supports soccer for more than 1,000 children in the Wells High School catchment area and they will be the greatest beneficiaries of this development. By putting all of our names onto one document, we can show the city how important this development is for our children and for growing youth soccer in our community.
Sincerely,
